Hi, I’m Dr. Tasleem Ahmed — welcome, and thank you for being here.

Dentistry has been my passion for as long as I can remember. It’s a career that has allowed me to combine science, artistry, communication, and care — all things I love — into one incredibly rewarding journey. However, at the heart of everything I do are two very important people — my daughters. They are my biggest motivation, my grounding force, and the reason I strive to live a life full of purpose, learning, and balance. While I wear many professional hats — dentist, educator, mentor, blogger — being a mum is my most cherished role.

I was born and raised in London, and it’s here that I built the foundation of my dental career. After qualifying, I was fortunate to work at King’s College London (GKT), one of the world’s leading dental universities, as a part-time clinical teacher in restorative dentistry. Teaching there sparked a lifelong passion in me — not just for clinical excellence, but for helping others grow.

I went on to found Longwood House Dental Practice, where I practiced and led a team for 18 wonderful years. That practice was my professional home for nearly two decades. I focused on general and cosmetic dentistry, and over time, developed a particular interest in Invisalign, orthodontics, occlusion, implants, and periodontal care. I trained extensively across the UK and abroad — from Harley Street to Paris to Brazil — constantly evolving, learning, and refining my skills. I’ve had the honour of working alongside some of the world’s most talented dentists and technicians, which has shaped the way I approach dentistry to this day.

Learning has never stopped for me — it’s a way of life. I truly believe that the best dentists are the ones who never stop being students.

After selling my practice, I entered a new phase in life. I now work as an associate in a few carefully chosen practices where I can focus on what I love most — complex restorative work, orthodontics, and mentoring younger colleagues.

This new chapter has also given me the time and space to pursue something that’s been on my heart for a long time — sharing what I’ve learned. That’s how Tips by Dr. T. Ahmed came to life.

What I’m Working on Now

I’ve recently returned from Las Vegas, where I trained in DTR (Disclusion Time Reduction) and EMG (Electromyography) — an exciting new approach to treating clenching, grinding, and chronic facial or neck pain.

Alongside my UK colleagues, we’ll be the first dentists to bring this cutting-edge technology to the UK. It goes beyond splints and bite guards — using real-time data to treat the root causes of bite-related symptoms. More on this soon!

Why I Created Tips by Dr. T. Ahmed

I started this platform because I genuinely care about our profession and the people in it — from the student nervously revising for exams, to the dental nurse striving to upskill, to the practice owner looking to build a better brand and digital presence.

This space is where I’ll be sharing the tips, tools, and insights that have made my journey easier and more rewarding — clinical advice, patient communication strategies, new technologies, interview prep, product reviews, and more. I’ll also be sharing a bit of myself — my experiences as a working mum, my passion for charity, and my thoughts on wellbeing inside and outside of dentistry.

Where I’m Headed

For me, the future is all about contribution: sharing tips, telling stories, lifting others up, and making dentistry feel more exciting and less daunting for the next generation of professionals.

My goal is to make dentistry more human, more understandable, and more enjoyable for you and for the patients we all serve

Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you’re here to learn, to grow, or just to feel a bit more supported, you’re in the right place. Let’s do this together.

Warmly,
Dr. T. Ahmed
Dentist. Mum. Mentor. Forever student.
